Neuron Energy Charges Ahead: ₹31 Cr Pre-Series B Fuels EV Battery Boom to 3 GWh Capacity

Mumbai-based EV battery innovator Neuron Energy has secured ₹31 crore ($3.5 million) in a Pre-Series B funding round, supercharging its ambitions to dominate India’s electric mobility landscape. Led by Equanimity Ventures, with co-leadership from the Rajiv Dadlani Group, Thackersay Family Office, and Chona Family Office, the round also saw participation from prominent family offices and high-net-worth individuals. This infusion brings the company’s total capital raised to ₹80 crore.

Founded in 2018 by CEO and Co-founder Pratik Kamdar, Neuron Energy specializes in smart lithium-ion battery packs tailored for two- and three-wheelers, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and safety. Operating on a lean, low-CapEx and low-OpEx model, the company has remained consistently profitable—a standout trait in the capital-heavy EV battery space. It is on track to close FY26 with ₹200 crore in revenue and has set its sights on crossing ₹900 crore in the coming years as EV penetration deepens.

The fresh capital will drive aggressive expansion, most notably scaling manufacturing capacity tenfold to 3 GWh. A new, fully automated, state-of-the-art facility coming up in Chakan, Pune, will produce advanced battery packs for electric four-wheelers and buses, marking Neuron’s entry into heavier vehicle segments. The funding will also accelerate R&D in next-gen battery management systems (BMS) and emerging sodium-ion technology, strengthen domestic partnerships, and lay the groundwork for global exports.

“This Pre-Series B round is a defining step in our mission to industrialize world-class battery manufacturing in India,” said Pratik Kamdar. “As EV adoption accelerates, we are focused on building capacity, embedding automation, and pushing the boundaries of performance and reliability.”

Investor confidence is high. Rajiv Dadlani of the Rajiv Dadlani Group called Neuron “highly committed to delivering rigorously tested and safe-to-use Li-Ion smart batteries,” underlining the startup’s potential to emerge as a market leader.

With India’s two- and three-wheeler EV sales expected to grow 30–40% annually through 2030, and the government’s ₹18,100 crore PLI scheme for Advanced Chemistry Cells in full swing, the timing is perfect. Neuron aims to capture a significant share of the projected 30 GWh domestic demand by 2025 while eyeing exports to Southeast Asia and Europe.

As India races toward 30% EV penetration by 2030, Neuron Energy’s latest funding round isn’t just capital—it’s rocket fuel for the country’s sustainable mobility revolution. The road ahead is fully charged.
