ShopDeck Raises $8 Million in Series B Funding to Expand D2C Offerings
Bengaluru-based startup ShopDeck, a Direct-to-Consumer (D2C)-focused software provider, has raised $8 million in its Series B funding round. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Elevation Capital, Chiratae Ventures, and General Catalyst. This funding is set to propel ShopDeck’s growth as it enhances its platform and services aimed at helping brands optimize their D2C operations.
Plans for Talent and Product Enhancement
The startup, founded in 2022 by Rishabh Verma and Harmin Shah, plans to utilize the funds to expand its team and improve its product offerings. According to the company, the investment will help them hire top-tier talent, further develop their platform, and experiment with new features designed to meet the evolving needs of the D2C space.
Helping Brands Build and Scale
ShopDeck primarily provides solutions for building and customizing websites, catalog management, and offering support in marketing and pricing strategies. Its all-in-one platform is particularly focused on design-centric industries like fashion, jewelry, home décor, and kitchenware.
Over the past two years, the startup has played a key role in helping over 500 brands, many of which were selling their products for the first time. ShopDeck’s platform assists these brands in not only setting up storefronts but also optimizing them to maximize profitability.
A New Beginning After Pivoting from E-commerce Marketplace
Founded by the same entrepreneurs behind the now-defunct e-commerce marketplace WMall, ShopDeck was born out of a pivot in 2022. Verma and Shah decided to shut down their previous venture and launch ShopDeck from scratch, focusing on the D2C model. Since then, the company has quickly gained traction, working with brands such as JerseyKart, Rizik, ichaa, and AS Platinum.
Rivals and Market Landscape
ShopDeck operates in a competitive space, facing established players like Shopify, Magento, and WooCommerce in website-building and e-commerce solutions. It also competes with companies such as Shiprocket and Shipway in shipping and marketing services.
With this new funding, ShopDeck aims to build on its early success, providing Indian D2C brands with a comprehensive platform to not only launch their businesses but scale them profitably in the digital age.
